Picking the sell price is the hard part
Read AI price predictions on thousands of tokens: the bull, base and bear case and the levels to watch, with a public track record scored against real prices.
How it works
- Pick the trade
- Spot, or a leveraged long or short. On spot you enter what you put in; on a long or short, the margin and the leverage.
- Set the prices
- The buy and sell price (entry and exit on a leveraged trade). Paste a contract address or a name to use a token’s live price for either one.
- Add the fee
- The exchange or swap fee per trade. It is charged on the buy and again on the sell.
- Read the result
- Profit or loss in dollars and percent, what you get back, the break-even price, and on a leveraged trade the liquidation price and what each price move would make.
- Then
- The sell price is the part no calculator knows. Browse AI token reports with a scored public track record, work out a token’s price at any market cap with the market cap calculator, or check it for a rug pull with the rug checker.
Questions
How do you calculate crypto profit?
Tokens bought = (amount invested − buy fee) ÷ buy price. What you get back = tokens × sell price − sell fee. Profit = what you get back − amount invested. For example, $1,000 at $0.50 with no fees buys 2,000 tokens; sold at $0.80 they return $1,600, a $600 profit or 60%.
How are fees counted?
On spot, the fee percent comes off the money you put in when you buy and off the proceeds when you sell, so a 1% fee costs about 2% over the round trip. On a long or short, each side pays the fee on the position’s value at that moment (margin × leverage at the open, position × exit price at the close), the way perpetual futures exchanges charge.
What is the break-even price?
The sell price at which the trade is flat once fees are paid. On spot it is buy price ÷ (1 − fee)². On a long it is entry × (1 + fee) ÷ (1 − fee), and on a short entry × (1 − fee) ÷ (1 + fee).
How does leverage change the profit, and where is the liquidation price?
The position is margin × leverage, so at 10× a 5% price move is about 50% of your margin, up or down. The calculator puts the liquidation price at entry × (1 − 1 ÷ leverage) for a long and entry × (1 + 1 ÷ leverage) for a short: where the move has used up the margin. Exchanges also hold back a maintenance margin and charge funding, so they close the trade a little earlier. Past that price the loss is the whole margin.
Does the result include tax?
No. It is profit before capital-gains tax and before network gas fees. How crypto profit is taxed depends on your country, so check the rules where you live.
Can I use a token’s live price?
Yes. Paste a contract address or type a token name under the inputs, and use its live price as the buy or sell price. It covers Solana, Ethereum, Base, BNB Chain, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, Avalanche, Robinhood Chain, HyperEVM, Arc, Linea and Sonic.
Is the calculator free?
Yes. No sign-up and no wallet connection. Once you change a number, the inputs are kept in the URL, so you can share the result as a link.
